An occurrence or multiple occurrences of unforeseen or unwelcome cybersecurity events that affect the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of a network or system involved in storing, processing, or communicating data.

Types of incidents to report include:

  • Privileged account lockouts
  • Remote access authentication events
  • Service accounts communicating with internet infrastructure
  • Compromise of sensitive data
  • Unauthorized access attempts
  • Emails with suspicious attachments or links
  • Denial-of-service attacks
  • Ransomware attacks
  • Tampering of electronic devices

Cybersecurity Vulnerabilities

To notify the Fiji-CERT of flaws or security vulnerabilities in applications, networks, or operating systems that could have an adverse impact if exploited. Report vulnerabilities that are not publicly known, including:

  • High-impact vulnerabilities affecting a significant number of users, critical national infrastructure, or physical safety
  • Vulnerabilities in websites or systems of large organisations or government agencies

Are You or Family a Victim of Cybercrime?

Criminals commit cybercrime by using a computer or online network to target victims. Anyone can be a victim of cybercrime, from individuals and businesses to government.

In Fiji, if you are a victim of cybercrime:

  • You should contact the Fiji Police Force Cybercrime Unit on fpf.callcentre@police.gov.fj or call the tollfree helpline on 1681. They have a dedicated unit for investigating cybercrimes.
  • Individuals experiencing harmful online content should contact the Online Safety Commission for assistance.Further information is available at: https://osc.com.fj/about-online-safety-commission/.

Common types of cybercrime include:

  • Cyber abuse
  • Online shopping fraud
  • Romance fraud
  • Identity theft
  • Email compromise
  • Ransomware or malware

How We Handle Your Information

  • Information provided to the Fiji-CERT is held securely with strictly limited access, similar to our own confidential information
  • We may share details with our Law Enforcement partners to assist in identifying investigation and mitigation opportunities

  • Always consider whether you need to make additional reports of the cyber incident elsewhere
  • Cybersecurity incidents reported using this form are monitored 24/7 by an Fiji-CERT Incident Response Officer, who will reply at the earliest opportunity
